Wanted for Theft and Fraud
June 05, 2012

Hamilton County, IN, June 5, 2012: The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said that on February 6, 2012 a man went to an elderly man’s home and said he had completed the work on his barn and he owed him $675.00.  The elderly man did not contract the work but was confused because of his age and paid the man. The check was cashed at the Huntington Bank in Noblesville, IN and was made out to Mark Lane. The man presented the bank an Oklahoma driver’s license and a Sam’s Club employee ID as identification but both numbers were not on file. Two days later the man returned to the elderly man’s home and told him he actually owed him $800.00 for which the elderly man wrote another check. He told the elderly man he would return the other check but unknown to him it had already been cashed. This check was cashed at the Huntington Bank in Alexandria, IN.  A similar incident occurred in March, 2012 in Jasper County to an elderly female victim. The man is described as white, in his late 50’s, possibly wearing glasses.
