Terms of Rewards
Only people who provide information that is not already known to law enforcement directly to Crime Stoppers via our anonymous tips lines 317-262-TIPS or 800-222-TIPS, our anonymous web based tip submission system, or our anonymous text messaging system are eligible for Crime Stoppers cash rewards. Crime Stoppers will never ask you for your name, phone number, or any information that may identify you; we want you to remain anonymous.
When you provide information about a felony crime to Crime Stoppers you are provided with a secret code number. This becomes your Crime Stoppers identity. We will not talk to you about the crime tip in the future if you cannot provide your secret code number each time you contact us.
Because you are anonymous, Crime Stoppers cannot and will not contact you. Therefore you have to call us back at 317-262-8477 to update any information regarding your crime tip and to check on the status of the tip. Status updates are only available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
If the investigators state the information provided leads to a felony arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward and must claim that reward within six (6) month of the date of the arrest or the reward is forfeited. The amount of the cash reward is based on criteria established by the Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana Board of Directors. You must be able to provide your code number and follow all instructions provided at the time we schedule your reward payment in order to claim any reward.
